2027 Candidates
As per the DLYC Bylaws, an election of Club Officers is to be conducted annually. The nomination committee presents a list of candidates for Commodore, Vice Commodore, Rear Commodore, Executive Treasurer, Recording Secretary and Board of Governors. Full and Senior member, in addition to Past Commodores of our Club, are eligible to submit their votes. The final results of the election of officers are conducted by the three Full Club members acting as our election tellers. These tellers confirm the votes and present results to the membership during our annual meeting in September. The list of elected 2027 Club Officers are presented below including their photo and brief biography.
2027 Commodore (1-Year Term)
Jeff Tagsold
Growing up in Blissfield MI, Jeff, along with his brother Doug and sister Linda (Cantrell), started spending summers on Devils Lake in the 1960s.
Their father, Parker Tagsold, was an active member of DLYC. Jeff’s fondest childhood memories of his grandparents’ cottage in Echo Cove and his father’s house further north on Devils Lake prompted him and his wife Laura to purchase a cottage on Round Lake in 2005. Jeff and Laura wanted to provide similar great times for their four children, all adults now.
Jeff attended Central Michigan University, majoring in both Mathematics and Economics. Immediately after graduating, Jeff started a 37 plus year career with Auto-Owners Insurance Company, based in Lansing, Michigan. After gaining experience in many areas within the company, Jeff was named President in 2010, and became CEO in 2018. He has recently transitioned into retirement which has enabled him to have more time to devote to DLYC board responsibilities. Jeff and Laura have been active members since 2008.
2027 Vice Commodore (1-Year Term)
Brent Mercer
Brent Mercer and his wife Monica have been year-round Devils Lake residents since 2009. They have five children and eight grandchildren. Brent is a partner and Senior tax manager at Donna Baker and Associates, a CPA firm in Adrian. They were also previous owners of The Buoy at the Lake. Brent was previously the treasurer of the club for the last three terms and held a board of director position for the yacht club for two terms prior to that.
Brent has been involved with many nonprofits in the Lenawee County area such as Noon Rotary Club, Adrian Rotary foundation, Neighbors of hope and the Sam Beauford Woodworking institute. When not enjoying the use of DLYC you may find him on Lake Erie, where he is a member of Monroe boat club and the Put-In-Bay Crews Nest.
He looks forward to serving the club as your Vice Commodore, giving the members a voice in all the exciting things the club has in store. With his sound financial knowledge and leadership skills he will be working to develop an ever more thriving and vibrant club for everyone to enjoy with their family. With this he asks for your vote in the upcoming election for the DLYC board of directors' Rear Commodore position.
2027 Rear Commodore (1-Year Term)
Holly Griewahn
Holly Griewahn is a lifelong Irish Hills resident who grew up on Devils Lake and has been connected to the Devils Lake Yacht Club for much of her life. As a college student, she worked at the Yacht Club, creating lasting memories and developing a deep appreciation for the Club’s traditions and sense of community. The Devils Lake Yacht Club has always been more than a place to gather, it has been a cornerstone of Holly’s life, where lifelong friendships have been formed and family traditions continue to be celebrated. Holly and her husband, Rob, have raised their daughters, Chloe and Lily, with the same love for Devils Lake, and their family has been proud members of the Yacht Club for many years.
A graduate of Western Michigan University, Holly is a full-time Realtor® with Foundation Realty, specializing in lakefront and residential properties throughout the Irish Hills and Lenawee County. She was honored to be named the 2026 Lenawee County Realtor® of the Year and is passionate about serving both her clients and her community.
Since joining the Devils Lake Yacht Club Board of Directors, Holly has served on the Marketing Committee, assisting with the Club’s marketing and communication efforts, including social media and member outreach. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Irish Hills Chamber of Commerce and is actively involved in supporting local organizations and community events.
Holly is deeply honored by the opportunity to serve on the Executive Board and looks forward to preserving the Club’s rich traditions while embracing opportunities to strengthen member engagement and ensuring the Devils Lake Yacht Club continues to thrive for generations to come.
2027 Executive Treasurer (1-Year Term)
Mark Blaufuss
Hello fellow DLYC members! My name is Mark Blaufuss, and after being elected as Treasurer at DLYC in 2025, I am seeking re-election on the DLYC board as Treasurer. My family and I have been part of the Devils/Round Lake community since 2011 and have been proud members of DLYC for 15 years.
On a personal note, I am a semi-retired financial executive and have focused my efforts on consulting, teaching, board work and philanthropy. I currently serve on several non-profit boards including DLYC as Treasurer, Ele’s Place, MCE Social Capital, Marbella Condominiums and Michigan State’s Broad Business School Advisory Board.
I also serve as a board member for several for profit companies including Worldpac, Highway Roop Precision Technologies, Bluebird Industries, Old World Industries, Anchor Glass and the Jason Group. I also work as a consultant in the private equity space with The Carlyle Group out of Washington D.C. and teach a mergers and acquisitions class at my alma matter, Michigan State University.
I bring a unique mix of community, business, financial and leadership experience which I’ve developed over my 35+ year career. If re-elected as Treasurer, I would continue to bring my passion for financial discipline, leadership and common sense to the DLYC board, along with my love of the area and the lakes.
2027 Recording Secretary (1-Year Term)
Mike Clark
Present Secretary, Devils Lake Yacht Club; Renovation Chairman, Devils Lake Yacht Club, 2006–2023; Рast Commodore, 2006; Chairman, Pleasant Grove Hotel Historical Society, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, 2013-present; Chairman and Founder, Devils Lake and Round Lakes Fireworks, Inc., 1984-2023, and still a member. Rollin Township Supervisor, 1986–1992, and currently serving as Rollin Township Supervisor. Presently a member of the Planning Commission. Owner, Air Center, Inc., 1986-present.
Mike is married to Terri Clark and has four children—Sarah, Melissa, Laura, and Elizabeth-and three grandchildren.
2027 Board of Governors (3-Year Term, top 2 vote count are elected)
Ron Bennett
Hi, I’m Ron Bennett, better known around the lake as “Reilly’s husband.” We have always enjoyed being part of DLYC, chatting with new and old friends, dining and dancing, sharing with family, and welcoming new members since 2007.
I’m Pennsylvania born, an Army vet, BGSU grad, long time Michigander and a Devils lake cottager since 1989. Then becoming full-time residents of Manitou Beach in 2011.
I retired from a long career in sales and business ownership but rarely am I not working. I dabble in boat sales for Devil’s Lake Watersports, write poetry, help friends start businesses, organize my garage, and take the grandkids tubing whenever they bug me enough to do so.
I am running for the Board so I may contribute to maintaining the established traditions, helping the club grow, and being a part of improving the experiences of all members and visitors at DLYC.
I’m enthusiastic about becoming a board member.

Christopher Coscarelli
What a privilege and honor to be nominated to run for the DLYC board. Along with many of you, the club has held a special place in my heart since childhood. The memories of growing up with our family cottage on Clark’s Cove led to my dream of one day raising my own family on Devil’s Lake. My wife, Haley, along with our two boys, Elijah and Enoch, reside on Devils Lake full time and love all of the memories we’re creating here.
Professionally, I strive to provide excellent service to my clients as I help them buy and sell their homes through Foundation Realty. I am blessed that much of this takes place locally by helping people discover their dream homes and find the beautiful community that is Devils and Round Lake. In addition to my Real Estate services, I’m involved in operating our family farm as well as owning an Agricultural sales and consulting business.
I’m excited for the opportunity to help build upon the legacy that is the Devil’s Lake Yacht Club. I desire to help create an atmosphere that will help instill the same love and devotion to the club that we have today within the hearts of the next generation. I hope to see the legacy of the DLYC continue far beyond our lifetimes and continue to provide a place where families can create lasting memories.
Jeff Gillow
Jeff Gillow has dedicated more than 25 years to education as a teacher and more than 22 years as a coach of multiple sports. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to serving others through education, mentorship, and community leadership.
Jeff and his wife, Kimberly, have owned a home on the lake since 2015 and became full-time residents in 2022. They have two adult children, Marissa and Donavon, who enjoy returning home during college breaks. Donavon also worked as a server at DLYC for a few years.
Jeff holds a master's degree from Marygrove College, a bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University, and an associate's degree from Ferris State University. He has been actively involved in numerous community initiatives, volunteer efforts, and local organizations, believing that strong communities are built through collaboration, transparency, and a shared commitment to service.
Jeff is eager to continue giving back through dedicated service at DLYC. Known for his approachable leadership style and strong work ethic, Jeff believes effective leadership is grounded in integrity, open communication, and leaving an organization stronger than he found it.
I would be honored to become more involved at DLYC by helping preserve the traditions that make the club special while supporting its continued growth and success. He looks forward to the opportunity to serve the club and its members and to help ensure DLYC continues to thrive for generations to come.
John Hurley
John Hurley is a C-suite executive and independent board director with more than two decades of enterprise leadership across cybersecurity, technology infrastructure, and global go-to-market strategy. He currently serves as Chief Revenue Officer of Optiv, North America's largest pure-play cybersecurity solutions provider, where he holds P&L accountability for approximately $4 billion in annual revenue and leads a global organization of more than 1,800 professionals.
John, and his wife Laura have been members of the DLYC since 2007. They’ve owned a home on Devils Lake since 2003 and have resided permanently here since 2023 in Clarks Cove. John currently sits on several Boards including the University of Michigan Mott Golf Classic, which has been in existence for over 40 years, and raises over $1M each year for improvements to the Michigan Mott Children’s Hospital. He also sits on the Board of Directors at the Country Club of Jackson, where he leads several key committees including the most recent Capital improvement campaign, Project Horizon.
John and Laura have been married for over 35 years and have (2) Son’s (Christopher/30, and Patrick/29), both married in the past 2 years (Chris to Bridget, and Patrick to Delaney). They continue to enjoy Lake activity with the Family, as well as hosting friends.
